Churches Plan Welcome Far B.S.T.C. Students V'ifr-1^ Students of the Bloomsburg State Teacher.l College will be tendered receptions in many of the churches of town this evening in the observance of an annual custom established years ago. , St. Matthew Lutheran Notes The annual promotion service was conducted in the Lutheran Sunday School yesterday morning. Awards and Bible presentations were given, according to the custom, to children of the primary [school. The Sunday School board meeting has been postponed one week from Tuesday evening because of the S. S. conference in the Baptist church. There will be no meeting of the mid-week prayer meeting because of the absence of the pastor from home. The Women's Missionary Society will me,et in the Ladies' Bible class room Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock. I The annual student party will be held this evening at 7:30 o'clock. The autumn communion service will be administered next Sunday, with the service of preparation in connection with each hour of communion. The sick and shut-in members of the congregation will be visited for private communion Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons of the week. Baptism of children will be offered at the church font next Sun-] day afternoon at three o'clock. Afterwards it will be held in homes which desire it there. The annual Sunday school rally day will be observed next Sunday morning. Ray Cole will be the guest speaker for the adult school. The Boy Scouts will meet this evening at seven o'clock. The Girl Scouts will meet Thursday evening at seven o'clock. Luther League Day was observed last evening by the intermediate society. The officers were installed by the pastor. Methodist Church Notes The reception for the students at the Bloomsburg State Teachers College will be held in the Chapel at 7:30 o'clock Monday evening. The Boy Scouts meet, cub pack at six and troop at seven o'clock Monday night. The organization of the Woman's Society of Christian Service will take place in the chapel at 7:30 Wednesday evening. Men will meet in the Social Hall at the same hour. The official board will meet at 8:S0 p. m. The Young People's choir meets at six o'clock on Thursday evening for rehearsal. The Girl Scouts meet at seven o'clock. Owing to the organization of the Woman's Society the Sarah E. Frysinger Society will not meet until further notice. The Senior Choir will meet for rehearsal Friday evening at seven n'dock. ???.,..???i^^^??? Church of Christ The young people of the local church will entertain the young people of the Kingston Church of Christ at the Bloomsburg church tonight at 7:30 o'clock. Games, a business session and refreshments will be included in the program. A special invitation is extended to Bloomsburg State Teachers College students who are members of the Church of Christ to attend this meeting. The official board of the church will meet at the church Tuesday | evening at 7:30 o'clock. The church choir will meet for rehearsal at eight o'clock Thursday evening at the church. The children of the Junior Church will hold a wiener roast at the country home" of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Miller Friday evening. "Each child will bring his own food and will meet at the church at six o'clock for transportation. J. G. Gordon, nationally known evangelist of Columbus, Ohio, will hold a three-weeks evangelistic meeting at the local church beginning November 11 and continuing to December 1, inclusive. Volunteer labor will be appreciated Saturday to work on the tabernacle at the Christian Service Camp at Zaners, the pastor, the Rev. Harry K. Franks, announced. The North American Christian convention will convene at Indianapolis, Ind., October 9-13. It is hoped by the pastor that several members will attend from the local church. L. Wilson, of 720 Eaft Second street, at 7:30 o'clock Tuesday evening. Members and any girls between the ages of twelve and fourteen are invited. The Boy Scouts will meet Tuesday evening at seven o'clock. The service of prayer and meditation will be held Wednesday evening at seven o'clock. C. ?.vA Albert Neyhard. of Orangev Enters Hospital 9/3 Edward K. Dietz, son of Mi', and Mrs. Walter Dietz, of Bloom street, was admitted to the Geisinger Memorial Hospital early yesterday morning with a ruptured appendix. He underwent an operation yesterday afternoon. His condition is critical. Dietz is a student at the Bloomsburg State Teachers College. Miss Muriel Rinard, teacher of 9 the schools at Lewistown, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rinard.
