Lock Haven To Test Trackmen .???Jll3.i*?? Huskies To Make Last Hornet Appearance Today Beforr Defending Title m Lock Haven Teachers, who opened their season last week by defeating Slippery Rock in a close meet and then were nosed out at Shippensburg will be here today for the last home appearance of the Huskies who will defend their state title at West Chester a week from Saturday. Today will make the last home appearance of twd of the stars of the squad, Kenneth Hippensteel, of Espy, and Dan Kemple, of Cumbola, who will be graduated on Monday, May 27. There arc the only seniors on the varsity squad. The field events wJll start at three o'clock this afternoon and the track events at 3:45. Whether the games will I be staged later is doubtful as there I are but two weeks of schools remain-\ ing and the sports schedule for that! period is heavy. Mrs. Thomas E. Wayne, Of Scott Avenue, Dies I Mrs. Thomas E. Wayne, town res-1 I ident, died at her home on Scott ave- ??? nue at 5:30 o'clock yesterday morntog from angina pectoria. In ill health \ for the past six years, Mrs. Wayne, who was sixty-nine, had been confined to her bed but a day. The daughter of the late Isaac M. and Martha Lyons, of Pine township, Mrs. Wayne attended Bloomsburg State Normal School and for several years taught in. Pine township. Much of her life she was a resident of Bloomsburg and was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Women's Home Missionary Society of that church and the Women's Auxiliary of the Valley of Bloomsburg Post, American Legion, of which she was a past president. Surviving are her husband, two children, Eugene L. Wayne, of Harris- I burg, and Mrs. Grover C. Shoemaker, [ of town; a sister, Mrs. Harry B. Wright, of Oneonta, N. Y., and a grand I child, Eugene L. Wayne Jr., of Har- j risburg. Funeral services will be held at the late home on Scott avenue at two o'clock Friday afternoon and will be in charge of the Rev. Dr. J. Edgar Skillington, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Burial will be made at Millville.
