Huskies Start Correcting li-"" - -. IT i ????????? ???! ?????? i * r Look for Huskies To Grow Strong h -*>C| Teachers College Squad Given Shakeup After Indiana Reveals Weaknesses The Teachers College went to work yesterday afternoon to correct the weakness which became apparent in the Indiana game, confident that the team come through in future contests. In order to get added strength in the kicking department, Malowski, a Wilkes-Barre boy, who has been working on punting from the start of the season and who is cool under fire, has been shifted to right halfback and will be entrusted with the punting. Leo Lehman, only varsity back with experience, will be shifted to fullback to back up the line and will also direct play. Koneicko will play the plunging back position and Donachey will continue as the running back. Tomlinson, a lanky end, will be tried at one of the wings where Sworin started Saturday. Herbert mains at the other end with Bill Kerchusky also getting lots of service so I that Coach Austy Tate's team should be well fortified at the end positions. Troutman, of Shamokin, has been placed at a guard position in place of Welliver. Manarick, injured in the Indiana game but recovered and ready for action and Hausknecht are being goomed for left tackle with Kirk and Roszcki working at that po- j sition on the right side so that there 'will be four tackles ready for call. Kozloski is getting lots of work at right guard and Atkinson, 180-pound boy from Hatboro, who reported late is at center. The second quartet of backs is composed of Jenkins, Dormer, Keller and Walinchus. Much work will be given the squad ???this week on protection of the kicker while punting. There appears to be little difference between the first and second elevens and Coach Tate will send these two elevens at each other in four ten-minute quarters on Wednesday when the only rough work of the week will be staged. They, like the Panthers, are meeting the defending champion of IP3B. In their two games to date the Mansfield boys have defeated Williamsport Junior College, 12-0, and Edinboro. 26-14. Shippensburg Teachers, rudely jolted by Slippery Rock at the start, came back Saturday to score late in the game at Shippensburg and defeated Kutztown's Golden Avalanche, 7-6. Both teams plays Bloomsburg. By the way, the Rockets at the present look like the class of the state's 'teachers colleges. Millersville's hefty' club which took the Huskies, 20-7, were no match for the Rockets who started scoring in the second quarter and gained momentum as the game progressed. Throe touchdowns were registered in the last quarter in a 38- 0 win. Cortland, N. Y.. teachers have never been on the Husky schedule. Certainly this year it is just as well, for Cortland is running wild. They opened with a victory over Western Maryland. On Saturday they went to Lock Haven the conquerors of Indiana, and tamed the Bald Eagles, 26-7. All the scoring was in the last half. Lock Haven scored first and then Cortland really went to town. Trailing 7-6, at the start of the lasf period, they scored thrice in the last 15 minutes. State Teachers College Bloomsburg, Pa.
