Huskies Off Schedule uml^Tx When the 1938 football season ??pens at Susquehanna University there will be four new opponents, and Bloomsburg State Teachers College, which took the Crusaders into camp this fait will not be on, the schedule. The other clubs tc be dropped are Roanoake, Rutgers. City College of New York and Washington. Newcomers are Alfred, Lebanon Valley, Dickinson and Brooklyn College. "Junie" Miller, ace three-sport athlete from Ashland, will captain thr Cm; the gridiron Quiet At College With Christmas vacation m full swing at the Bloomsburg State Teachers College there is no activity in athletics. Suit, well known Berwick girl, became the bride oi Harold L. Border, Barnesboro High School coach and teacher, at a cere-j mony performed at noon on Christmas in the Presbyterian Church of Bell Air. The Berwick young people announced on Christmas Day that they hac been married July 11, 1933 ai Mont rose. The ceremony was rerformec at the Methodist parsonage there by Rev. Wilbur C. Dodge. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Lloyd F. Suit, of East Front Street, and is a graduate of both Berwick High School and the Bloomsburg State Teachers College. Formerly she was a teacher at the Stone Church School in Salem Township Mr. is the son Mr. and Mrs Edward Foster, of Hughes Street, and is well-known painting contractor. It's demise started almost before the '37 season began for Ber-| /wick had announced that after the! season it would throw in its lot with! .Wyoming Valley teams. Its apjplieation was later presented and ac-L^ Coal dominated scholastic basketballl; mnd the College Huskies, while not|s (State champions, had a good year. In?? iMarch the College held its annual! schoolboy tourney, with top honors?? to Freeland. 1 Sports Program Broadened The sports program at the College! continued to broaden during the year. I rhe first intercollegiate bowling | matches were held. For the first time H the Huskies sent a representative??? M 3ill Strawinski???to the indoor intercollegiate tennis tourney. Ken Horn-| er, of Shamokin, got wrestling off tot a good start and this winter it will be V a varsity sport on the hill. During f ihe Fall a number of boys who played 1} soccer in high school formed a teamf hat made progress and branded soc-| rer a coming sport at the College.
