B Sr / j I f */3 4??- seored 9 to 1 Victory Over JMillersville at That Place Yesterday The Huskies evidently got all the poor baseball out of their systems iri the Mansfield game for they looked like real champions at Millersvillfi yesterday afternoon as their fifth straight was enrolled in easy and impressive style, 9 to 1. Bloomsburg started out in the first^ Kotch was safe on an error, moved tc second on a pitched ball and scored on Banta???s single. In the second All Finder hit a home run. In the third Kotch singled, stole second and scored on Banta???s double. The victory was definitely clinched with four in the sixth. Houck was hit by a pitched ball, moved up on Giermak???s sacrifice and crssed on ???Whitey??? Moleski???s double. Kotch walked. Eompalo popped up. Banta doubled and Moleski scored. Kotch crossed on Shannon???s error. Danny Litwhiler doubled to send Banta home. In the last of that inning Millersville escaped a shut out on singles by Houtz, Bishop and Bolger. Doubles by Finder and Wenrick and ???Peg??? Houck???s single finished off the Bloomsburg scoring with two runs in the ninth. Notes of the Game Danny Litwhiler, star outfielder of the Huskies, committed grand larceny on two occasions. In the eighth withi a man on first and two out, WilemanJ _ jMillersville first baseman, really landed on one. The ball cleared the trees! in deep center but Danny ran aroundj the trees and traveling full tilt grab-, bed the ball knee high. They???ll bel talking about that catch in Millers-f ville for many a day. In the ninth Shorb hit a low liner 'into center but Litwhiler ran in and made a sterling shoe string catch. When there are runners on the bases Sterling Banta, Luzerne Frosh, is a good lad to have around. In the first he singled to score Kotch. In the third, he hit to allow the same team mate to tally and in the sixth he doubled to send Moleski over. Al, Finder made sure his drive in the second would be good for the cir! cuit. He hit the ball in the lagoon in (deep right field. The Huskies had eight errors on; I Wednesday but nothing that looked! like a miscue yesterday. A ???Whitey??? Moleski was in fine formf yand put down in order the first four--, teen to face him. Millersville had three timely double double plays that kept down the Husky score. The one in the seventh came because Wenrick fell as he turn-. cd to go back to second after Mole- g ski???s fly was snared. For the first time this season the Huskies went through without a substitution. Cl Giermak, the peppy catcher, had only one official time at bat but he was on base four times. Once he was hit by a pitched ball, twice he worked the pitcher for passes and on another occasion got to first on a fielder???s The only time he did not reach first he sacrificed. The game opened a five game road campaign for Bloomsburg. Next Wednesday the boys are at Mansfield and on Friday at Lock Haven. Large Crowd At Spring Concert ???r/->-/3dl / / H College Mixed Chorus and A Cappella Choir Presented Recital One of the finest musical programs presented at the College in some time 'was the Spring concert last evening >f the mixed chorus and A Cappella iChoir of the Teachers College before in appreciative audience. Miss Harriet M. Moore directed the :horus and choir and Mrs. John K. Miller was the accampanist. The | singers were ably assisted by the Teachers College symphony orchestra. The program was a varied one and meld the closest attention of the audience. The students by their work reflected much careful training. This and the splendid voices gave splendid! nterpretation to the melodies. I i?? i n 1 Annin .MiJr Wyoming Takes Class A Award In Competition s/xhV Bloomsburg Boys Cops First Place in Business Arithmetic Contest BERWICK GIRLS TAKE TWO SECONDS Berwick High Finishes Fourth and Bloomsburg High Fifth Among 14 I Wyoming High School yesterday won the class A title in the scholastic commercial contest of the Bloomsburg State Teachers College, repeating its achievement, in 1931. William Penn High, of Harrisburg, and Collingdale, last year???s winner,! were tie for second, Berwick High was fourth and Bloomsburg High fifth. iFourteen schools competed in the (contests. I In Class B the contest will be held !this morning. The victorious Wyoming team will come to Bloomsburg this evening, in ,charge of Walter S. Rygiel, and will be guests of the Pi Omega Pi fraternity of the College at a banquet at the Elks Club. The contest cup will be presented. Clarence H. Davenport, of Bloomsburg, won the business arithmetic contest. Berwick placed two students second. Miss Irene Priscilla Sabo in the business law contest and Miss Kate Zinich in the bookkeeping contest.In the point score, first place is credited with five points, second place [with three and third with two.
