Description	The Proceedings summarize discussions which took place at a convention in West Chester at which the Pennsylvania Lyceum was founded. The Lyceum advocated for the advancement of education throughout the state through the establishment of schools and lyceums. Much of the document consists of an address from the Pennsylvania Lyceum to the citizens of the state suggesting that these voluntary educational organizations be established within families and schools as well as at the community and regional level.
